Biden Administration Approves Willow Pipeline Project - Victory for Union Laborers

temp-post-image

The strong, proud, and united men and women of LIUNA are celebrating today’s approval of the Willow Project in Alaska. President Joe Biden stood strong with working men and women on this project and we applaud his commitment to creating good jobs and building the middle-class.

The Willow Project will develop our own, homegrown American energy portfolio, benefit local communities and create over 1,800 union construction jobs with long-term, family sustaining careers.

After years of collaboration and consultation with government agencies, Alaska Native corporations, communities, and the public, the comprehensive project plans ensure Willow will be produced with the strongest environmental and social standards. The experienced union tradesmen and women who will build Willow are trained for the exacting, detailed work needed to ensure compliance with Willow’s strict environmental protection requirements.

LIUNA is grateful for the advocacy efforts and steadfast support of Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Dan Sullivan, and Representative Mary Peltola.

LIUNA members in Alaska are proud to build this important project and are ready to get to work with this key approval secured from the Biden Administration.
